In 2014, Tony Shaw called me to say that a decrepit automobile radiator repair shop in Burlington's South End had just gone on the market. I raced over there and, after taking in the general squallor and disrepair, offered to buy the place. Tony had been helping me look for a new shop since 2009 or so. During renovations I found this oily plank of mystery softwood in the attic and made it into a guitar fior him. Thanks, Tony.
Tony's guitar: salvaged mystery wood (looks like hemlock, seems too lightweight to be hemlock...maybe spruce?) body, maple / rosewood neck, steel pickguard, Lollar Vintage pickups, variable boost built by Scott Anderson at ekco-tone.
