BRIAN HENNEMAN'S OAT

My dad reminded me that when he and my mom first moved into the house where I grew up, they hired a hippie commune to do demo and carpentry work on the place – The Wooden Shoe Labor Force. One of the girls, named Odessa, had a baby in the house. She named it Oat.

Brian's instruction:
"Get out your country rock records, and let your heart be your guide.
Smoke pot.
Walk in the woods, WITH your family.
Get yer ol' lady to bake some bread.
Remember your mustache."

Meet Oat.
